My Process
This is my uxui design process inspired by Design Thinking and Lean UX. In these phases, I am conducting field and desk research, understanding my customer, breaking down and visualizing ideas, experimenting with prototypes, entering feedback loops and then ultimately building and launching Smart Agenda.
Learn
The learn phase of UX design unpacks the brief, inspires us, and allows us to empathize with users and get to the heart of overlapping needs of the business and user, as a result solving a problem.
What Worked
What Did Not Work
Competitive Audit
A UX Audit involves assessing competitor sites to see how they design for their user needs. We audited more than 10+ sites to find inspiration and what competitors are lacking.
Inspiration: We found that users are familiar in seeing the fab button as a call to action.
Our competitors lacked having a mobile friendly website. With some, it was hard to see all the features and users would have to try to zoom in on the screen. There was also a lack of a primary CTA.
Social Listening
Social listening helps us understand more about our target audience through social media.
Takeaway: Users do not like scheduling services that do not give the user control such as managing their time availabilty.
Survey Results
54 users took our survey.
When analyzing our results, we were able to better understand user needs and expectations. These results also gave us a better understanding of persona pain points and that will inspire our design choices.
Data
“ 28.3% users said their pain point when scheduling appointments is not having enough available time slots to choose from,” - Get App.
In a report about healthcare systems offering online self-scheduling, “77% of patients said that the ability to book, change, or cancel appointments online is important,” -Healthgrades.
“71% of millennials want to schedule appointments through an app,”- Forbes.
Define
In the define phase, we identify our goals, objectives, and strategy for the UXUI.
Personas
After research, we created personas based on the data we found in our surveys. We will use our personas to help inspire us for the design phase.
User Journey
A user journey is a path a user may take to reach their goal.
This is our visual representation of our entrepreneurs’ experience.
MVP
MVP means Minimal Viable Product. It is a way of developing a new product with acceptable features to suit the users.
During the pandemic, we held our MVP session with the web dev team through Miro and plotted our features on priority levels through the Moscow method. Moscow: Must haves, Should haves, Could haves, Won’t Haves
KPIs are important in that they are measurable goals that allow us to judge our success when launching our product, Smart Agenda.

The User Testers
Iterate
Because users felt that the Agenda feature was too similar to the Notifications feature, we made the decision to take the Agenda feature out of our project. After taking out the Agenda feature, we tested the prototype again, and there was no more confusion from the users.

New Sitemap
After making iterations such as deleting the agenda feature in our wires, we went back to our sitemap to update.
Design System
The design system is created to keep consistency with typography, icons, colors, and the sizes of buttons. This design system was created in Invision for easy access for the developers.
